International Whiskey Day is the celebration falls on March 27 each year and is a celebration of the life of the British writer & journalist Michael Jackson. Jackson was passionate about whiskey & beer and as such has an extensive bibliography of books that sold globally including:
- The World Guide to Whiskey
- The World Guide to Beer
- Michael Jackson’s complete guide to Single Malt Scotch
- Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide
- Whisky
- And many more
Jackson died from a heart attack in 2007. He had also suffered from Parkinson’s disease for at least a decade.
International Whiskey Day was started on the birthday of Michael Jackson in the Netherlands in 2009 to honor his life and work. It has since spread across the world and participants are encouraged to raise a glass of whiskey to celebrate their love of the drink and Michael’s life.
We would love to continue Michael’s legacy and would love you to expand your palate with us by either creating your very own bottle of whiskey using our whiskey builder, where we have additional tools like the palate test and mash bill finder to assist in creating the perfect whiskey for your palate. You will then get to select your alcohol percentage and design an amazing label for your whiskey.
We also have the experience sample kit, where you can sample each of our whiskey barrels and create the perfect whiskey recipe for your palate in your home. You would thereafter come to our site to redeem your recipe for a full-size bottle, select your alcohol percentage and name it with the perfect label.
Cheers to a wonderful International Whiskey Day to you from our team at Designer Dram!
